SMITH completed the restoration work of approximately 1/4 of the 120 acre Feed Plots (30 acres) with a perennial grass mix and general weed control of the entire project. We seeded the feedlots in July and August of 2008 with Diskweed growth and also with Winter Wheat as a cover crop. We performed general weed control by applying Riparian herbicide for noxious weed infestations, Tamarisk and Russian olive treatment for re-sprouts, and Upland herbicide application for noxious weed infestation. Finally, we searched for and eliminated all new weed infestations. |
