The SMITH team constructed cleanup measures in accordance with a VCUP permit. We designed and built several cleanup measures including a 1,000-ft long, fish-compatible channel; a permanent dewatering/diversion trench; a new road; new berm to divert acid drainage runoff; buck and rail fencing; wetlands; wildlife habitat and riparian ecosystem along the new channel; and an upland revegetation plan to revegetate the new road’s cut-and-fill slopes. |
