Goeglein Gulch Wetland Mitigation Area – Design/Build
SMITH completed the storm water management plan, water diversion plan, fish habitat assessment, hydrologic and topsoil suitability investigations and construction design services for the Goeglein Gulch Wetland Mitigation project. Over two acres of wetlands were created, three forebays were designed and built, over 3,100 shrubs and 100 trees were installed, and over 3,400 wetland plant plugs were planted. Design was started in March 2007 and construction completed by July 31, 2007. Chief Engineer Kara Hellige of the Durango Regulatory office indicated that she uses the Goeglein Gulch area to demonstrate good wetland mitigation. |
