 Beaver Creek Mine
SMITH performed baseline wildlife surveys on 16,500 acres for selected BLM and Wyoming State Sensitive Species for Devon Energy’s Beaver Creek Coal Bed Natural Gas Development Project Environmental Impact Statement. We completed survey design, preparation, preliminary, and final mapping for this project. We completed mapping; identified the extent of all white-tailed prairie dog colonies within the project area and identified and mapped potential Mountain Plover and Greater Sage Grouse habitat over the project area. Both visual sightings of roosting or soaring raptors and nest locations were mapped using GPS and ESRI ArcMap GIS software. We also completed Burrowing Owl and BLM sensitive passerine surveys, data analysis, and reports. |
