SMITH provided planning and environmental consulting services for this 2,000 acre ranch. The development will have 106 home sites, roads, utilities, an equestrian facility, lakes, and horse trails when completed. SMITH identified wetlands and Other Waters of the U.S.; prepared a wetlands report that included a 0.12-acre wetlands mitigation area and completed a PMJM and Mexican Spotted Owl BA for this project. The BA was written in concert with a Forest Management Plan to allow for wildfire mitigation while sustaining PMJM/MSO habitat. SMITH provided on-going support for this project by meeting with the USFWS, USACE, CDOW, and Douglas County. County Commissioner comment: “I have to commend the staff. Great work, great job.” |
