SMITH performed a jurisdictional wetlands investigations, migratory bird surveys, developed a wetland and wildlife impact assessment mitigation plan, helping our client avoid having to obtain an Individual Permit from the Corps of Engineers. We also completed a Class III cultural resources reconnaissance survey. We completed a Ute ladies’-tresses orchid (ULTO) and Colorado butterfly plant (CBP) Habitat Suitability Assessment (HSA) for the project. We prepared an Amended Initial Site Assessment (ISA) for the project and prepared presentations for the Douglas County Planning Commission and County Commissioners, responding to environmental comments made on the PUD. Finally, we completed monthly construction management meetings and oversaw the excavation of fish migration/protection holes and the proper design of waterfowl islands.
